CONSTRUCTION OF A COVERED FOOTBALL PITCH FOR GÖTTINGEN UNIVERSITY (GERMANY)
In 2016, SMC2 built a 2132 sqm covered football pitch for Göttingen University in Germany. The University Sport Department wanted a covered area for football playing which would be accessible all year round and whatever the weather would be.
The University priority was to make an aesthetic building and its main structural requirements were a wooden frame and a translucent cover, that is why the University was seduced by SMC2 technical skills and commercial offer.
Thanks to SMC2 expertise, the building process was quite fast for such a complex structure which perfectly respects technical and aesthetic requirements. In spite of its dimensions, this covered football pitch fits perfectly in its immediate environment and makes other German universities envious of it.
